Sometimes we heard people say, "why should I pay for design? ANYONE can design..." The idea of design is always being narrowed-down with statements saying that design is simply an action that ANYONE can do. How do we, as designers can over come that?
I remember that I heard a conversation about a house renovation experience from a singaporean broadcasting station FM933. An audience was sharing her experience about how she contacted the carpenter to build her design by herself without using any designer's design proposal. She feel like nowadays she need to pay a lot of money and get a design that is not functional and unuseful as if beauty is greater than practicality.
There was a client that used a "interior decoration" software to build out the scene, and she feel like interior design was really easy and she can do it herself, she was wondering why we were taking so much time on rendering and amending the design. So ridiculous hahaha Anyway, this kind of "funny" thing happended and it was not their fault, lack of the information and understanding was the main reason.
